Freshman-Ninth Grade
>Don't let your grades slide, if you do it will hurt you later.
>Play on one or more highly competitive club soccer teams. Set high goals for
yourself at practice.
Sophomore-Tenth Grade
>Identify 20 possible colleges or universities by May. List Schools at different
levels of academic and athletic intensity that give you options to choose from
later.
>Make a two-year plan on how/where you can be seen playing by college coaches.
Junior-Eleventh Grade
>Travel with your team to recruiting events throughout the year. Write college
coaches and arrange for them to evaluate your play. Now is the time to showcase
yourself!
>Get applications for admission and scholarships during the summer before you
senior year.
Senior-Twelfth Grade
>Keep up your school work.
>Keep in contact with coaches from the schools that interest you. |

>Equivalency Scholarship-A scholarship that can be divided and shared by
two or more athletes.
>Head Count Scholarship-A type of scholarship that must be awarded,
either in full or in part, to a single student-athlete. This scholarship may not
be divided among players.
>Red Shirt-The practice through which a student-athlete does not play in
games for a year but participates in other team activities and does not lose a
year of playing eligibility. |
